Field Day

Every year, the MARC participates in ARRL Field Day. Field Day is the most popular on-the-air event held annually in the US and Canada. On the fourth weekend of June, more than 40,000 radio amateurs set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio’s science, skill and service to our communities and our nation. It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event.

Exam Sessions

If you are looking to get your Technician license, or want to upgrade to General or Extra, the MARC provides in-person Amateur Radio License Exams. All members of our Volunteer Examiner team are accredited by the W5YI VEC. Please check the License Exams page on our website for more details.

Annual Club Picnic & Auction

Our annual Club Picnic and Auction is held in September. MARC members get together to enjoy a “pot-luck” picnic with the Club providing hamburgers and hot dogs. After we eat, we hold a brief club meeting, then hold an auction with the proceeds going directly to the club to cover repeater maintenance and other club expenses.

Club Meetings

MARC Club Meetings are currently held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month (except June and September). Club meetings are also available via Zoom for members who are unable to attend in person. In June we have our meeting during the Field Day Dinner and in September during the Annual Club Picnic. During our meetings we conduct any club business that needs to be brought before the membership, and afterwards we usually have a guest speaker or a presentation from one of our members.
