The MARC 2021 October Newsletter is now available. A big thanks to the following who contributed to the newsletter: N4JW, K4LEN, KK4FHS, W4WRR, K4JSS, N4BBB, N4MZX, N4MCC, WB0CJB, and KM1Z. Once again, special thanks to Bill, K4BX for another great newsletter! A quick housekeeping note: I am working to eventually have as many of the back issues of the newsletter that I can find available for download on the club website.
The Annual MARC Club Picnic and Auction will be held Saturday, September 25th at the Maury County Park, in the Bridle and Saddle Club Pavilion. We will meet at noon and the auction will be held after we eat. BBQ will be provided; please bring either a covered dish, dessert, or soft drinks and ice. Also please remember to bring items for the auction! Your donations will be auctioned off and all of the money raised goes directly to the Club for upkeep and repairs on the repeater, or for other outings and events throughout the year.
The Columbia Cycling Club’s Jailbreak Triathlon will be held this year on Saturday, September 18th. Once again, we will be providing radio communications for the event. All Amateur Operators are welcome to volunteer! You do not need to be a member of the MARC or ARES to participate. We will arrive at the park at 8AM to coordinate positions and set-up. Lunch will be provided by the Columbia Cycling Club. If you would like to participate, please contact Bill Reed, W4WRR.
We will hold our next club meeting on Tuesday, September 14th at Catfish Campus in Columbia. We will start eating around 5:30PM and the meeting will start at 7PM. We will start the Zoom portion of the meeting at around 6:45PM. One of the topics we will discuss is our upcoming Annual Club Picnic/Auction. We look forward to seeing you there!
The MARC Amateur Radio License exam session scheduled for September has been canceled. We will resume our regular testing schedule in November. We apologize for any inconvenience. To search for other nearby exam sessions on the ARRL website, click here.
